TARA FOUNDATION

WHATS NEW
You can help us in our endeavor by visiting our schools and helping in any which way or by sponsoring some of our activities. You can also provide for mid-day meals on certain days in the school or provide stationery or uniform. Right now we are raising funds for a rehabilitation center for child labor at Muzaffarpur district in Bihar (India). Contribute generously.

FOUNDER

Born of educationist parents Pankaj Bhushan is a core activist who seldom loses an opportunity to confirm his philanthropic acumen. Drawing heavily from his mother, he is devoted to the cause of women and children. Determination to work in alarming situations comes natural to him from his experiences in the Indian Air Force.
He has proved his mettle on several occasions while implementing key projects despite resource crunch and lack of logistic support. He is a tremendous networker and coordinator. He has crisscrossed the entire stretch of the Indian sub-continent, travelling to the remotest units, learning local cultures and understanding people’s problems.
He is passionate about helping the poor, disabled and elderly. He is a spiritual person and a yoga practitioner too. His schedules are hectic. Still, he gets personally involved in surveying the target areas and in collection of significant data. He is an avid reader, researcher and traveler. In 2002 he founded Tara Foundation with like-minded social workers.
His works speak and they are often picked by media for impressive, emulating reviews as Tara Foundation grows as one of India’s most recognized and respected non-government organizations. He is committed to full literacy, rehabilitation of disabled, liberating women from social dogmas and empowering them besides freeing children from labor and creating a new world for them.
As you read this, he is already working steadily towards solving some of the poor's most threatening problems. No wonder people credit him with ushering in a philanthropy phenomenon in India’s eastern state of Bihar.

BRIEFLY ABOUT TARA FOUNDATION
At Tara Foundation, we believe in respectable life and equal opportunity for all. Our outstanding team dedicated to human values specializes in philanthropic work and share a common vision.
Based at Muzaffarpur in India’s eastern state of Bihar, our work is spread throughout India wherein we focus on issues that demand urgent attention and follow-up action, solutions, and significant results like in elimination of child labor, trafficking, women uplift, disaster, disability, hygiene and sanitation for destitute.
Recently, when the devastating flood caused by Kosi River inundated large areas from Nepal to Bihar in India’s east, affecting hundreds of thousands, we were there with all our volunteers. Even if we were unable to stop flood, we at least saved lives, many lives.
We team with governments and other partners to make a significant impact in the lives of people. We are gearing up to strengthen our capacity and may you be part of us – as a volunteer, donor, guide or partner – to meet the growing challenges.
Registered in 2003, we take pride in the legacy of our work, and our contribution towards the society. At a legal awareness program for poor, defenseless and women, Governor R. S. Gavai said: “Tara Foundation deserves all praise for its work. It has taken up the daunting task of guiding women.”
